Interested In A Career In Dentistry?

We’ve worked with a talented team of dental students and dentists to create a unique learning experience for those wishing to gain an insight into Dentistry. The ‘Dentistry Experience’ course by I Want To Be A Dentist is a short modular programme designed for those wishing to learn more about Dentistry. This course is not intended to replace traditional work experience, however it aims to provide more information into the career and relevant topics surrounding it.

Who Is This For?

There are several video guided tutorials covering multiple dental related topics. These modules have been designed primarily for those wishing to pursue dentistry at university. As such, the technical content is basic and in many cases simplified. This should, therefore, serve as an initial ‘taste’ to fuel your interest.

How To Use This Resource?

Designed in small engaging video modules, these tutorials are easy to listen to and very informative. We recommend dedicating some time each day or week to methodically work through each tutorial. Whilst much of this information is valuable, Dental Schools do not expect in-depth knowledge of technical Dentistry. What is of importance is your ability to show career insight, motivation and reflection. You should therefore actively reflect on your experiences as your continue throughout this programme.

Certificate Of Completion, Assessment & Reflection (optional)

We have designed a short assessment test to be undertaken following completion of all modules. This is a multiple choice test, based on the information provided in each tutorial. There is also an important reflective element, aimed to encourage participants to discuss what they have learnt and how this has influenced their view on Dentistry. A certificate of completion is awarded for attaining 80% in the test and undertaking detailed reflection.
